gotta say all ur comments are nice ofcourse but unfortunately all wrong, tested the hero's template out and i can honestly say it works REALLY REALLY well. i beat 2 rr8 armsmen now without getting hit lolz

The template is bad because you use several low utility items. The SCing is also not great. Your template includes dragon drops and uses ALL avaliable slots (ie S/S non weaponless). You also neglect quickness and dex in your template however you still aren't able to cap everything else, hits, con, style damage, melee speed. |

As Cadelin said a weaponless template would have been alot more viable more quick and dex (you pointed out 250 dex is a hard cap? then i'd like to say ur wrong.) there is no hard cap for dex on defence... anything upto 250 is a significant increase to block etc.. anything after that it lessens the higher you get. (you still gain an increase for 250+ its just alot less than what it would be from say 1-250, 250-350 for example would be alot less of an increase). Anywhere around 75-80 dex is perfectly fine for a template you don't need to go out of ur way to get 101 because its really not worth it the increase is that minimal. The only shield users that need 101 dex in daoc are classes that rely on a 50/50 weaponskill tree like reavers or pierce champ/hero etc.as said tho its been a long time since i've tested things like this on daoc so wether mythic changed them or not I don't know. No ra's included in the below and these are based off firby quick (if its a shar just add 10 on the results don't differ that much)
Celerity up + red haste with 15 quick in temp = 1.5 swing speed with a 4.1 speed weapon. Celerity down + red haste with 15 quick in template = 2.7 swing speed with a 4.1 speed weapon. Celerity down + red haste with 15 quick in template + 40% haste debuff = around 4.0 swing speed (roughly) with a 4.1 speed weapon. 250 dex offering 1400 (roughly) weapon skill with a shield. 290 dex offering 1600 (roughly) weapon skill with a shield. Shar hero with 45 dex from a template @ rr1 would have 48% chance to parry 52% chance to block with the stats in this template. Shar hero with 80 dex from a template @ rr1 would have 50% chance to parry 54% chance to block with 36+11 parry 45+11 shield. Lurikeen hero I tested it with had 90 dex in template 50+20 parry 50+20 shield 73% chance to parry 73% chance to block and he was slammed 3 times in a row. Here is something I threw together based on the items you use in your template. Its certainly not perfect but its better than your current template.
I worked out that given your current template, even WITH the celerity proc you are still not capping your swing speed. Without the celerity proc you will be swinging around every 2.5 seconds with your current template and every 1.6 seconds with celerity. After being gayed on my Armsman by him I've made a new template for my Armsman and also respecced him.

Yes, went 50 slash, 50 shield, 31 parry and changed template a bit (WH and more dex).
Didn't IP vs Sacre. Die badly to Mevor now though (Warrior), need either Celerity on 1H or 2H to win vs him. And still get raped by Champ debuffs (hello Twinsun). |
