For those with Chronic Linkdeath syndrome

If you are suffering from linkdeath problems constantly:

Does this happen when:

1. Large battles in RvR.

2. Zoning to the borderkeep/into the frontirs

3. Porting between keeps or the borderkeep.

If so, two things to try:

1. Upgrade your network card drivers.
2. Check the properties of your network card and make sure "hardware checksum" is switched off.

Other linkdeath problems won't be solved so easily but do the above first to make sure it's not the whole "network card sucks when computer under load" problem.

How to upgrade your network card drivers on Windows XP:

Classic start menu

start->settings->network connections

find your "local area network connection", right click it and select properties.

A window should popup.

XP start menu

start->connect to->show all connections

right click "local area connection" and properties.

A window should popup.

Click configure.

Click the "drivers" tab

Click "Upgrade driver".
