Crysis Warhead slow down problems

So I installed Crysis Warhead and started to play it just after the first part where you get out of the plane I started getting really odd slow down issues :/ best way I can discribe it is like this

Running fine, s-----l-----o-----w, running fine, s-----l-----o-----w, running fine.

Basicly constant slow down's at first I thought it was vista so I uninstalled Vista and tried it on XP PRO but STILL had the slow down.

After that I tried all the settings from Low-High and it still made no difference :/ between the slow downs ingame it runs very smooth no lag or fps loss at all until the next slow down hits.

Lost now and honestly have no idea what it is comp specs are as follows:

AMD Dual Core 6000+ (clocks at 3.0ghz)
3072DDR2 800mhz OCZ ram
XFX 8800GT 512mb

Currently running 178.13 Nvidia Vista64 bit drivers.

Tried it with both Dx9 and Dx10 same issue with both.

I've never had issues with the first Crysis game no slow down or anything ;< anyone had the same problem and possibly found a fix? rep reward.

Edit: Not having this problem with any other games just Crysis Warhead.

The game is very, very badly optimised, I do get periods of nonsensical slowdown on my similar box too. Have you installed the latest patch for it?

Its running great on my E6600@3.5gh, 4gig ddr2 and an 8800gtx. Running 1280x1024, everything maxed with no antialiasing. Getting constant 30 - 40 fps. I think it really helps having a graphic card with more memory.

Its not graphics card related, ran the first game perfectly fine no flaws, lag or anything given the second game was meant to be toned down so it ran smoother on systems its highly doubtful its that + its the same engine.

Not sure where you heard that from tbh - because whoever reported it was obviously talking out of their EA paid backside. Warhead is about as well optimised as, well, any other EA product on the market, and most reports from important people (you, me, other end users) show that it's generally worse than the original in performance terms.
