SSD (Solid state disks)

Was thinking of getting one, for booting up windows on and setting up other demanding programs/games on. Anyone have experience with them (obviously there are many brands). Are they stable, worth performance wise?

You're still going to be paying a LOT of money for not much/no gain. Read performance can be staggering but write performance - bleh. Save yourself money and grab a VelociRaptor or RAID up, you'll have far better all round performance.

If you really do want to jump on SSD's though, wait a few weeks, companies are now hitting us thick and fast with newer and better versions of their products and we're just starting to see some with usable all round performance figures. The ones that are now usable are setting you back around £200 for 64gb, which is a daft investment by anyones books.

SSD technology and technology that supports it needs to mature a lot more until it is actually worth using.
