Weird problem...gaming/psu/gpu related.

So, I have an asus terminator case/mobo/etc combo and have had no problems playing FPS games on it, or anything else.

I have a dual monitor setup, and an X1950 GPU, an E6600 CPU and 4gb ram.

I do a lot of multi tasking, so I might have a video up on my right hand monitor and a video up on my left, etc etc it all works fine.

However with games ( world of warcraft and warhammer online ) I am getting a lot of issues/bluescreens/crashes etc, and a lot of visual tearing - screenshot below.



This obviously sucks the big one and I would like to fix it.

I've had similar problems to above before, where the GPU was overheating due to a fan issue, but I've checked my GPU temps throughout and they seem fine.

My main question I guess is - any ideas beyond "lol new pc" /etc, and would the smaller PSU in the case be causing it? If so I have the asus monitor software that will display the line voltages but I have no sodding clue what they mean or what I would be looking for?

I have ofc updated all drivers and so forth.

I had a problem very much like that last time I had an ATI graphics card. It was the card and was replaced under warranty.

I bet its that to be honest.

It probably is, but I was mainly wondering if it could be a psu issue at all?

I'd love to replace the gpu but I have a small form factor PC and it can't take certain cards due to length issues, also I'd like to put 2x cards in for multi monitor madness but no extra slots etc.

A power supply would rarely cause that sort of problem, that's normally down to failing/failed memory on the graphics board or other failing components. Some games stress different parts of the board differently and as a result some games will continue working fine and others will suffer.
Time to go shopping, IMO.
