Can't believe I missed this thread. I wanted to redevelop the kea website Kill Em All - Home Page so that it used css. In my research I found these which may be useful...

Something I quite like using when I'm developing websites are colour pallets.
Colormatch.dk VisiBone Webmaster's Color Lab Also, Javascript sources that I've used in the past that have been useful... Sortable/Draggable Lists CheatSheet of CSS Javascript Comparisons Finally a site with some awesome "OMFG I'm a newb" tutorials... Sitepoint

im gonna preety much sound like fuckless half wit.
but which guide is best for somaone who has no idea how to build/make a web site? i sorta tried a few years ago and gave up in 20 mins

Hi Yaka
If you want to learn how to code a simple website, check out W3School's HTML and CSS guides (SitePoint and other sites also have general introductions). If you're not interested in coding, you could use visual design software like Dreamweaver (there must be free alternatives out there too), which allows you to ignore most of the underlying code and just draw what you want (although obviously there's still a learning curve involved with the software). Finally, you may wish to skip all this and just use someone else's code. PHPBB is a nice free forum, WordPress is handy for blogs, and there are many full-blown content management systems (CMS) out there. Once you have these scripts, all you have to do is follow the instructions and install them on your web host. Kind regards Last edited by Jonty; 29th April 2008 at 12:20 AM.
