DAoC, Mythic, Games and fat programmers

Don't know how to develop my thought exactly but I will give it a go :x

I will start with a good example of games and development.
Warcraft3 , released by Blizzard Entertainment.
A game played massively online, bringing players to fight each other in strategical combat(oO).
Blizzard constantly updates the game, renewing it to maintain interest, while at the same time tries to measure and keep the balance between four races that fight eachother. Blizzard programmers and game editors actually play the game and have gamers hired as beta testers, not only to report bugs, but to inform them of game balance as well. Excellent work, and free service.

Now, Dark Age of Camelot. The only game with In-Depth PvP that actually has a point compared to other MMORPG's.
I'm sorry, but I need to be raw and harsh, the clumsyness and crapyness of Mythic cannot be put into words.
Most of us are aware of it, but PROFIT is Mythic primary concern. Using PROFIT as a primary goal, they patch up the game and make it worse and worse.

A terrible expansion, introducing ridiculous amounts of boring and pointless PvE.
New "Cool" abilities that I'm 100% sure that were never actually tested in PvP action. Just introduced to make the players desire something "more" of the game. Bullshit abilities that ruined the "RPG" touch the game used to have. Just the concept of Atlantis in Camelot is just... a fat, slimy programmer's idea who neither really played the game nor understood it ever.
ToA didn't really make casters gods, cause by accident Banelords ML'd tanks could make their life harder. Just a coincidence IMO.
Still Bodyguard and Grapple bots litterally annihilate the philosophy of rolling a melee class. Some "gamers" are grapple and bg bots wannabes BG'ing casters and grappling any melee dmg dealer near them. Not their fault imo. What more for a warden to do for example?

My merc friend pays 13E/month to play his merc. Got artis, got scrolls, xp'ed his ass out to make his merc uber. Five minutes ago I watched him RvR . Four minutes fight. My friend landed 3 styles and stood still grappled the rest of the time spamming /dance. Must someone be a genius to give grapple a higher recast timer or maybe.... dunno... immunity??? I guess so, cause Mythic's delelopers don't really give a shit.

NF is gonna lauch ranged classes to the best of it. Casters and bow users will have REAL fun in "Epic, Heroic Sieges n Battles of Huge skill"..... MY ASS(bold bolt iwin).

The concept of melee classes should be rly reconsidered. Nowadays they are v happy to stare the caster in the eyes being grappled funfunfunfun meights.

Daoc 1.62 actually had a point. There was teamwork. A good player made a difference. The combat depth of daoc had a point. Resist's, styles, growth rates, piercing, positioning.

Now at 1.69, a good savant ML11 warden can bg and grapple my merc friend during the whole fight breaking his ballz. Piece of shit imo(I would break the fucking keyboard). Just do your funnay interesting exciting MASTER LEVELS m8eys to get out there and realise u fucking suck and start armorcrafting!

I was determined to roll a zerker, cause I always wanted to play a melee class, feel the actual melee dmg of a tank with str relics. But no. CBA to play a 2k ws grappled melee class that kills ppl by staring at them while a naughty hand keeps em stunned . I want to play a melee class , feel the actual damage , see the hp of the enemy to fall dramatically on every hit, but the fat slimmy programmer did his job again well ... No one tested anything(besides the bugs ofc..). Cause gameplay doesnt matter and the goa retards simply wont give a shit, JUST HAVE FUN WITH FUCKING HEROIC BATTLES.

I can live with the zerg and the 349736 TSing *****, I can live with infils being better than sb's (tho most of em are to retarded to realise it) , i can live also with the 48954 epic dressed wizzies that fill the milegates with PNs.
But I CAN'T live with developers being so short-minded making melee classes so useless.I can still imagine in my mind the rr2 random noob(PvE whore thats ml10 be4 getting 50 seeing a Highlander Invader like Konah or a Troll Invader like Zzang and insta Grappling em on sight feeling that his char fucking r0x
I'm gonna play my sb till NF comes out, try the EPIC UBER MASSIVE SKILLFUL concept a bit, and then sell my acc and w8 for WoW.

.....You could consider of this as a whine post...I don't think it is one really.

i sense your fear... tbh why should you re-roll a ranged class to have fun.. but then ask yourself. what is fun for you? granted Keep seiges aint gonna be fun for tanks unless you actually LIKE hitting keep doors... there are still roaming fights in the frontiers... i played on some US servers last night for the first long extended period since NF using my brothers RR7 Merc and his RR4 Friar... i had quite a lot of fun with those.. group fights are harder to find.. but more rewarding i found than sitting in a keep.. grapple is a big issue, well maybe not the ability its self but the way the timers work.. heeh aye spent some time /hugging people when grappled.. i wish theyd put some thought into the ML abilities and other such b4 implementing them...

although i fail to see what GOA has to do with your complaint, they dont make the patches, nor do they have ANY input.. its mythic and their playerbase that choose... perhaps if they had a forum (like a meeting of selected Euro players who know theyre shit) and brainstormed ideas this game might improve.. but that would be a sensible idea.. and not like mythic at all.

tbh i havnt really found that same annoyance as you have when playing zerker in responce to amount of times i get grappled and my inability to kill people. there are obvious things to avoid like not go near the warden/eld combo or whatever. but there have been very few fights were i have remained chain grappled for a whole fight. also if u got some grappple spamming guy on u u can strafe while on ur other target and just move around inbetween styles and the grappler will often not be able to grapple u for 2-3s..which can make the diffrence between ur target dieing or not.

wc3 they do indeed release updates alot but the game is certainly not balanced, so many issues. Cheesehawk against orc, beastmaster abuse (still) double orc serpant ward push,bloodmage now imba this patch. lots of things.
