There's a fair few of us from Guardians of Power (alb/pryd) playing. We're planning (touch wood) to do the (semi-serious) guild v guild battles when we're comfortable and have the 20s/skills-unlocked to put together complementing groups on the fly
If any friendly/mature/english-speakers want to join us, give me a shout [either here, on irc, or in Guild Wars (Lady Darkwinter)]. Incidentally, I did my first video a couple of weeks ago, only 29meg (xvid) and downloadable at: http://www.rpgfilms.net/nuke/modules...=getit&lid=574 (had to get it rehosted after it ate all my bandwidth allowance )

I see it more like an fps than a mmorpg
You can hop on, do some quick PvP, hop off. If you don't want to do the "grind" with a roleplay character you (technically) don't have to - you can create insta level 20 PvP characters. Surprisingly (and recently) these sort of Instant characters have become very viable. Many of the archetypes it offers (Warrior/Monk etc) for insta creation have the set of skills you'd likely take if you levelled 1-20 and equipment just about as good. The advantage to "beating the game" first is to unlock Runes and other Skills which you can then use whenever you create another Insta PvP character. The game revolves around guild v guild (I'm sure the name gives it away) which, right now, due to the way the Tombs work is awkward. However, I suspect Anet will be changing this soon. It's great having a company that's so transparent, a policy of no stealth nerfs and really listens to the community (the developers post/discuss on several of the main boards). Eitherway, with no monthly fee and no-required time commitment, bit of a no brainer

There are 3 servers in a way: N.America, Korea, Europe. This determines which set of instances you go to by default and which WaW (Worlds at War) team you're on. The N.America servers are physically in N.America, the European servers physically in Europe etc.
Unfortunately many UK players grow frustrated with the lack of English in local chat (it's 90% french/german) and head off to the N.America servers. This isn't really a problem with a nice guild though ![]() ... which is the whole point. Guilds need to be able to field a good 4/6/8 man team for the Guild v Guild battles (and Tombs). Some smaller guilds have started to merge together. To The Last is mostly alb/pryd people

You can switch between clusters a maximum of 5 times, I'm going to try out the american one for the next week.
What could be worse, american english, or trying to work out which language "Miss Jaja Gabor Xddd"" is using on the EU cluster. This is what I want to find out

Hehe. It's as much that the Americans have said they'd rather we stayed on the European realms to provide some competition (WaW is dominated by Korea/America even now). I've also heard some bad things about the lag playing on the American servers, let us know how it is.
