i dont mind an economy. but having the risk of losing something i spent months getting in the first place isnt really THAT appealing, and is one of the biggest things i hate about EvE. mostly because theres very VERY little in EvE worth taking any risks for.

I agree. The little "thrill" I get out of loosing stuff, doesn't outweigh the annoyance of having to play more to make it up for me
Fun for me isn't loosing play time.

From what I've seen of the PVP battles, its going to take a while for someone to take your ship down. There is the space battle and then there is a 'run around the ship defending' battle after that. Depending on the total crew you can command I'd guess its pretty tough to take control and blow the ship... I'd like to at least have the option to set Self-Destruct, take my ship... O RLY? :P

Givf Defiant though, waiting on those pictures

that would probably require PC players to make the ships. and i'm not sure we will be able to. it could just be that you get access to the ships as you rank up. wich would get my vote.

the economy will probably only play a part in trading with the other races that isnt part of the federation.


losing a ship in STO will probably put a dent in your rank rather then having a financial impact.

yeah but it were never HIS fault it was either someone sabotaging the ship or some "mystic force" that he couldn't beat

he never lost a ship because his orders were blatantly wrong

so that gave him a "get out of jail free card"

So to distill what Ctuchik and Lubbock are saying:

1) Star Fleet technology is full of bugs, probably never should have got beyond beta.

2) There is plenty of eye candy.
