Platini Strikes Again....
I have so much respect for this guy as a player bt damn does he spout some shit about the state of football today.
I put it all down to jealousy of the fact that English clubs have taken over in Europe once again!! BBC SPORT | Football | Platini attacks top-flight set-up

Hes right, English football has lost its way immensly. It was fine when 1 or 2 foreign owners had a dabble at being a premiership club, but now every man and his dog wants to come and essentially fleece the fans.
English footie fans are renown for their die hard support(look at Newcastle) so the investors want to fleece the fans for a few quid, because they know they won't go anywhere else. Thats why I am a huge advocate of the lower leagues. Yes there isnt much more(especially for Leeds) in the lower leagues, but for the young guns like me, it is a flashback to how it was in the 70s, where anyone could win the FA cup and the league was wide open. Most of the teams have the majority of British players(hence why the big guns are now sniffing around the likes of Crewe and Cardiff in case the quote ruling comes in). The youth system thrives at lower level because those clubs are skint, and they know if they play the youngsters, they will get vital experience and might end up winning things. They have nothing to lose, and playing a load of kids on YTS contracts is cheaper than bringing in the likes of Hasslebaink and other former Premiership stars who want more than 10 grand a week. |

He is way of the mark with some clubs though.
Man Utd have American owners, but the fears of the fans and the football community at the time of the takeover have not materialsed. They remain as they were. He comments on owners from Qatar, but it is Americans with more of an interest in the League. Look at Aston Villa, have they lost their identity? Liverpool is the only club in turmoil because of their ownership, but for them a lack of money over the last few years would have been even worse. I think we need some kind of wage limit though. But clubs with new owners that let the football guys run it are no problem at all.

It was estimated that the Premiership owes £3bn pound or something and a lot of it is bad debt that needs to be re financed all the time Like Liverpools this year, and didn't Man U have a similar problem? It is in a shit state as unless these clubs can find another mega rich owner to take on thier debt they could go bankrupt just look at Gretna from richest club in Scottish Football to non existance. Yeah Man U and Liverpool are huge teams with more fans but that amount of debt is no joke. Even Arsenal who have sorted the loans really well could be in a spot of bother this year if they can't sell all the houses to pay back the construction loan.

I fucking hate this gob shite. For 50 years plus, the likes of Real madrid and Barcelona have had a bottomless pit of cash due to the spanish banks giving them what they want . Did he cry about this? of course not.

Platini is a twat along with Blatter who should be in Jail rather than running FIFA.
Although I would agree that ownership of the clubs can be an issue at the end of the day most are businesses with stocks and shares easily bought via the LSE. How can you possibly stop a foreign invester putting money into a business. Introduction of protectionist Laws would be a huge issue likely to infringe various GAT agreements and existing laws. If Mr jealous frog thinks he can change all that he has serious delusions of grandeur. Much like his crooked boss.

Who cares what nationality the owner of a club is, so long as the team is looked after and they spend money to bring in the best players?
All this comes down to have a Frenchman crying because he cant stand to see English sides doing well. To quote a old song " No One Likes Us!! We Dont Care!!! Do-Da Do-Da" Fuck off and fixup your shitty French league with its mediocre teams. Its huge numbers of foriegn players coming from all over Africa and the rest of the world to play in France but thats ok because they dont win SHIT. |

He seems to have a pineapple up his arse because of English dominance in the Champions League. Not our fault his cheese eating surrender monkey teams can't compete at any level with the bigger European teams (both national and international).

i dont agree with him that foreign ownership is a bad thing but i do agree that its silly that these big teams hoover up all the youth talent into their acadamies (where still only a very few actually break through to the team) rather than allowing them to play competitive football regularly O_o
