mIRC FH-OT
With a guide how to install and connect since quite a few people didn't know how to connect.

Download mIRC.

Install it as you would usually install a programme. Once installed open it up.

Click continue on the evaluation box.

Enter the details required, obvious enough i guess.

After that click on the 'Servers' tab and find Quakenet. It doesn't generally matter if you click DE, SE, UK or whatever. Once selected press OK.

Another good thing is to go to the Options tab, click on Perform and type the following.

/mode $me +x . This will hide your IP from other people who /who your name.
also type /j fh-ot to instantly join on connect.
(remember to click Enable perform on Connect)

Click the little lightning bolt at the top left corner to connect to Quakenet.

Once you've joined on the first panel just type /j fh-ot and you'll be into the channel and start talking.

Once your on it's advisable to AUTH. To do this just type.

/msg q hello youremail youremail

so for example

/msg q hello johnsmith@hotmail.co.uk johnsmith@hotmail.co.uk

You will get an email and a link etc, just follow it then i would put the long code into your perform so you auth on connect.

Would it be possible to make this sticky pls a mod?

Hope to see some new faces soon! It can be a good laugh from time to time

Select quakenet from the drop down box, enter your nickname and #fh-ot

Why does everyone keep joining and then leaving within 5 mins

IRC is like, uh, doing something that takes alot of time or something Come in, say hi, then go afk if no one responds immediately, play some CS or whatever it is you play (apart from WoW, dont play that!), and then come back after a few and see if anyone's chatting.

Most people leave IRC on in the background and leave thier PC on all day, and occassionally check it to see whats what, so dont worry if no one replies immediately!
