Well, I know no-one ever reads these forums anymore, but at least I can treat it as some kind of blog I suppose ...
Anyway, what annoys me about CSS these days is that silly ranking system the Mani mod has introduced onto just about every server in the world.
It relies predominantly on your kill-death ratio to score, which isnt actually the object of the game. It encourages people (even more than usual) to stand at the spawn with an AWP and run away from trouble.
Bombs planted? So what? Attempt a defuse? what, and risk ruining my KD ratio??
Thats not how the games meant to be played. And its reaching a point Ive noticed now where people actually seem to think a score of 3-0 is better that a score of say, 5-3 ! It isnt chaps.
The only reasonable ranking system Ive seen is on the Cult server (dont know the name of the system) ,where it actually adds points for bomb plants, defuses, and a lot more. Even then its kind of over-compicated, and makes me wonder just what the point is anyway.

I agree I very rarely look at my stats/rank but you can see eople that do it after every few kills. oh and ban awps

I did find a rather fun server that killed all of the surviving CT's if they didn't manage to defuse the bomb. Kind of nice to see that focus people into actually doing someting when the 'bomb has been planted' message comes up.

Individual scores should be hidden, team scores are what counts.

Been saying it for years, but it will never change.

Its getting rediculous. People typing rank every other round.
I wouldnt mind , as I say, if there was some relevance to it, but its actually there to make the game worse, if you stop to consider it :/

When people type "statsme" I like typing things like "12% gay" or "Your penis is 3 inches long", you never know, they might believe it's their stats!

Anyway, while in a blogging frame of mind, the funniest thing I ever remember on CS is when i was on some server and this guy was using an AWP, so I said "right you're banned!".

"No way" he says, "Oh yes" says I, "youre using the Awp so I've kicked and banned you". So he drops the Awp, although how he thought he was banned and kicked whilst still playing is a mystery. Someone else picks up the Awp and starts using it. "right your'e kicked too" and so on. It ends up with about four people thinking they were kicked and banned even though they were still playing and me never been an admin. I then banned myself and quit, which (I'm sure) showed them!

The worst thing is are servers with about 30 mp3s/wavs to download upon entering, mainly consisiting of Simpson soundbites.

tbh ive noticed a lot more servers are adding a 3 kill bonus to defuse/plant/hossie rescue to their servers which as far as im concerned is a bonus. lets hope every srvr follows suit.
