i'm not to fond of the new expansion tbh. the story was ok i guess but the rep grind to get armor and weapons is shit. can just as well play WoW now.


and more heroes. what ever the hell for? we couldn't even use a third of them as it was. let alone the 24 we have now.....


was hoping we could use atleast a full group of them now but apparently A-net think thats overpowered. as if the heroes were not stupid or anything... >.<

It's far too short, most of the new armours are reskins, some of the mini-games were fun but ultimatly dissapointing due to computer AI, also practically nothing was added on the PvP side of things...

I guess if you enjoy'ed the PvE side of guild wars so far then it might be worth it, only lasted me 3 days.

what do you guys recommend for a newcomer? buy all expansions at once, or get one at a time?

There probably aren't people doing the quests of the first games, are there?

I bought this on saturday and found it really quiet, figured i'd see what characters were like at lvl 20 with the pvp option and I only had 5 or so spells, figure you get more from doing something but couldn't figure it out

did some dummy pvp with bots but it was not much fun.

doubt i'll bother grinding from 1-20 because I cant really see where the end game is.

there are. and if you can't find any ppl on the european shards u can always change to the USA shards with the district menue at the upper left of the screen while in a town.

the end game is really to get into a guild and do GvG's (Guild versus Guild battles).

and about the spells, theres skill trainers in all major citys (the ones colored gold:ish on the map when you zoom out) and in some of the outposts

you need skillponts that you get from finishing certain quests (and when ur lvl 20, one point every time u fill the XP bar)

what part of guild wars did you buy? all of it? coz the very first game have a load of quests that give skills as a reward.


/edit: and for the most part unless you have a friendly guild, it WILL be lonely, just from the fact that 95% of the game is instanced. IE you can't leave a town hoping to find a random group thats out XP'ing. you have to form one in the town or use the henchman's...

but anyway, since that expansion just got released its there most ppl wll be. and u need lvl 20 to even go there. which can be a slight pain.

Got Tom Clancy Rainbow 6 Vegas today, also going to install the Crysis demo on 25th September. If that doesn't keep me entertained till the Crysis game is released (11 November) I'll get myself Team Fortress 2 in October
