Hi, my new friends from Glastonbury

Due to my english is not perfect, I wanna tell you some interesting things.

We, the germans of Salisbury, know very well, how hart it is for you all, to play on a german server. Most of you will probably don't understand a single word. This causes big problems - to solve this problems, we have opend a "Translation Help Thread" in the official german board.

Hi!

This is a question an English player asked me today:

How to use German characters (like ä ö ü ß) e.g. in Single Respecs like /respec Nähren (Nurture) or /respec Stoß (Thrust) etc?

A solution is to use the Alt Codes (Unicode).

ß = Alt+0223

ä = Alt+0228
ö = Alt+0246
ü = Alt+0252

Ä = Alt+0196
Ö = Alt+0214
Ü = Alt+0220

How it works? In DAoC: e.g. for Stoß (Thrust) write /respec Sto{{push Alt and keep it pressed - enter 0223 on the numeric pad(!) - release Alt}}. Now you got /respec Stoß (hopefully :P).

To find more Alt Codes look into your Windows Start Menu under system programs... don't know how its called in English (character table?), but here is a screenshot:

A few of you may have noticed already: on German servers are special volunteer guilds, e.g. named "Helfer von Salisbury".

These volunteers are normal players but with direct contact to GMs/CMs and many other volunteers from all German servers. So they normally know a lot about current bugs and probably their solutions.

Feel free to ask these volunteers (/who Helfer) if you have any problems, of course not every volunteer understands English, but the most (even if it's such bad English as mine).

No offense to you Germans .. I have German blood. However, I dont speak German and never will.

I will pay money for an English server because thats the language that I speak.

Agree, appearanly, english wasnt a lanuage he understod either if he didnt understand the intent of the thread.
