Do you play with DAoC like a FPS (han on the mouse), or are you a keyboard player?

well i changed it one time and the headache wouldnt go away for a few days so i changed it back - but then for some reason i started getting used to the new controls while actually having the old ones changed it back after a while and then it was pretty much fine after a week

Don't like it to much, could have been since I had it on mouse1 tho which screwed my targeting.

Pretty much same controls I use(d) when I play FPS. (Natural Selection HL mod, Counter-strike HL mod)

wasd movement with qbinds like stick, face, sprint etc around.. mouse to target enemies in distance, but f8 when they get close. pressing buttons on my qbar with numbers/fingers, but would like to learn to press them with mouse.. but its dam hard to hit 5 buttons right at the beginning of an 1on1 duel with the mouse..(debuffs, dd, st..)

With WASD movement, Q and E for strafing and all useful buttons (stick, face, sprint) bound to the keys on the left pad. I also use a 5 button mouse and have right click as mouselook and left click as camera pan, extra button 1 as numlock and extra button 2 as reset camera view. It means I never take my left hand off the keypad on the left of the keyboard, or my right hand off hte mouse except to type.
