Is it just me or is this WAY to little WAY to late?

I mean, the game was completely ruined for many of us several years ago, our mains we loved was suddenly put into a system in which it was hopeless for us to have fun, and instead in attempts to get to have fun, we meet basicly endless frustrations with the new forced content of ToA, without which you could not compete.

Now, several years later, after I completely stopped playing DAoC, even on freeshards where the system was ALMOST like what they want on this new server, they offer it, but still just the server. The characters you had back then are still lost and you would have to start all over from scratch with a new character on this server, working your way through those 50 levels...

Nah, way way way to little way way way to late for it to make me willing to give them money. Got better things to spend my time at than spending weeks infront of the comp just to get a character to the point where I can have as much fun with his as I used to be able to with my toons before the launch of ToA

Agree with some of what you say.. BUT you gotta remember every single player in the world is in the same boat its not like you have to start from scratch and be instantly pitted against RR13 groups.

I'm looking forward to the server despite them ruining my mains with the launch of TOA etc end of the day fresh start back into a server type that we all loved despite the companies flaws.

Some of the above say "Oh lets just go play shards its no different" it clearly is. Freeshards offer instant level50 on a NONE DEDICATED server.. which means you could spend weeks playing it building up a character and poof the server could go down just like that... not to mention the dozens of corrupt GM's, modded characters and cheaters.

I welcome the idea of a DEDICATED Old Frontier server with open arms.


Edit: On a side note! when/if this is confirmed anyone interested in forming a MID lvling party with Myself + Trollum? we'll prob go for some old style PBT/pbaoe leveling party setup (aka fast+safe)

I support Bloodomen will keep me posted on how much people we find. Is it decided if there is going to be a server on EU and one on US? Or is it only US atm?

OF with my ranger was the best, with the stealth system as it and the archer nerfs no point trying this one.

All in all too about 2/3 years too late.

I can see their reasons behind trying to bring some balance, but personally...removing the theurg and adding its abilities elsewhere?

Surely thats just going to anger a lot of old Thuerg players and Albs in general.

I don't know about you guys, but the vast diversity in the 3 realms is what I enjoyed about DAoC, it really felt like a different experience for each side, with 3 totally different socitieis. Even the sort of people that played each realm appeared different in their own persona.

So even though it wasn't totally balanced, it was just alot more interesting and gave you something to fight against "the evil imbalance!".

I enjoyed WoW, but hated that Alliance and Horde were just the same but with different models.

It seems to me that the European opinion (or at least the English speaking servers) favours a return to the exact model of OF. The Americans however, who most likely are forwarding the majority of the feedback, may think differently.

I was sort of interested in checking this out, but I don't feel like playing a heavily modded version as it would just feel like the classic servers to me. New Frontiers RA's are fine, and some of the fixes under the hood, but modding the classes themselves...meh.

I think a previous poster was probably spot on when he said "a New 5 year old version of DAoC". Pony.
