Irvr in NF has shown us exactly what would of happened, you'd have 100 mids on one side the the chokepoint and 100 albs on the other side..

You'd storm in and kill 50 of them, then 30 seconds later that 50 would be right back there again.

Except there was only 2 choke points so the ability to walk round the perma standoff would be none existant.

only blizzard has successfully provided pvp for all tastes from 1v1 without anyone adding, 2v2 3v3 5v5 arenas to 10v10 15v15 40v40 battlegrounds apart from capital raid)
the only problem was in servers with pop balance 60-70% alliance to 30-40% horde alliance players have to wait 2x more for the instance
it is a pity that pvp itself is sooooo shit compaired to daoc

i played gw, lotro, vanguard, eq2 and l2. imo daoc has the best pvp , wow has the best pve.
i was playing fps 4 years ago and got tired of the setting, the game depth, the repetition and the community playing these games.

I will never play it. DAoC was at it best classic to release of ToA. No gaming experience for me will ever compare to DAoC back then. Certainly not this ill conceived attempt to milk one last dime from DAoC. I would rather leave my memories of the green rolling hills of emain as they are.

The problem with this thought is that 2 weeks after release the set groups will be RR5+ so it's going to really be no different to now. The first week is normally funny, then it's just the same as every other server.

DAoC provides 1v1 fights, go to your border keep and /duel people.
