Mechwarrior Servers :)

Please could you put up a Mechwarrior 4 Dedicated server.

I would be more than willing to help set it up and work on a map cycle.

With Mechwarrior: Mercenaries coming out in november wouldnt it be good to be the only UK GSP with mech servers

MW4's great fun multiplayer. Was always impossible to find decent servers though.

Edit: Apart from american ones full of american fucktards.

I was always of the impression that you couldn't just jump into MechWarrior matches. You had to set everyone up in a lobby and then launch.

Is this still the case?

Oh, and the lobby that BarrysWorld provides actually works quite well.

Out of interest (and a bit o/t), you're gonna have to do that in Doom3/Quake4 as well. Way to step back into the early 90s id!

nope, whilst their is a lobby kinda thing, unless the server admin has set it so you cant join when the game is in progress you can join whenever you like.

The point of the MW lobby is so you can see what rules the server has on and adjust your config accordingly - ie if theres no heat on, you strip out all the heatsinks and load up with counter-measures or bigger guns :/

How many people regularly look in the Game Server forum
If I + others are to convince BW to put up a few servers, then it needs positive feedback from other players

I've found that most servers are ok, but yeah you do get a proportion of the typical teenage american that we love to hate :/

I've been trying to Pimp MW4 : Mercs if and when I can on the BW News page. I shall continue to do so.

I have to admit that I'm a little bit of a multiplayer virgin when it comes to MW. I have played all versions of the MW series except the black knight expansion and I suppose 2-3 years of playing the tabletop version may qualify me for on-line play.

btw, if you a fan of the tabeltop version of MW then please, for the love of god, check this out. Networkable and great fun.

I also have the innersphere add on pack, I have to say the heavy gauss rifle on a highlander is a sweet combo, I just need the clan pack now.

The sweet thing is the addon packs for MW4: will work on MW:Mercs
