Console Regions

Hi guys

I recently purchased an Xbox 360 Elite, and since I'm in Taiwan it's an Asian version. The website I ordered from said that it's compatible with NTSC-J games, which is fine with me. However, I recently ordered the Asian version of GTA IV, but when it arrived the packaging says it's for PAL systems. Despite my worries, it works fine with my console.

So now I'm little confused: do I need to worry about game regions (NTSC-J, NTSC-U/C, PAL etc.) or not? Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've not had a console for years and years, so it's all new to me. Thanks in advance.

dont know if it helps but at play-asia.com it tells you which games will work on any region, even if they are marked pal etc.

Thanks! Actually I got GTA IV from there, and you're right that their guide is very helpful. I'm just curious about how PAL/NTSC can work, as I always thought they weren't compatible.

If you are outputting in any hi-def format (720p, etc.) it almost doesn't matter anymore (refresh rate aside).

preety much all games are region free on both 360 and ps3 these days


tho ninty are still gh3y over this and games are region locked
