I took it out of the site in an attempt to diagnose a pretty weird session state error I am seeing. Only happens when that directory is present on the site

Maybe you should ditch it fella and do a gallery script install, since we've got the wiki on gallery.fh. wouldn't be a massive adjustment. Plus subs only uploads perhaps?
