PvP for EQ2?
Hi there, my rl friend was telling me about this game, EQ2, as i looked on him playing my first thought was, omg amazing graphics, really cool game, it was something different from what i experinced from other MMorpgs, like daoc for example, wich feels pretty "zombie" when you fight. but now this game you really felt like the character was alive, wich i thought was very impressive =)
Well, i asked him about the game, how it was "built". He then started to explain to me that there currently is no PvP system, the game is based in Pve, well, im very compedative person, so really who has the best items and who can kill what and wich monster inst enough, i want wars with other players, a computer monster whos only based on strength and no actual skill, isnt very fun, (please, its only my opinion, no flame if possible) anyways, he then told me that they will add a PvP system later on, well, that was enough, i ran to the store and bought the game right away, the pve time before the pvp was released was enough time for me to exp ^^, Anyways, i then read the faq, since im quite impulsive i didnt read anything about the game before, and so it seems, it says there will be no pvp system and no plans, i know the faq is from before the game was released, So im wondering, will there be any PvP system? or did he only say this to me and all my mates to get us think the game is good, since he know id never buy it otherwise. Thanks for all you who wanted to read all this crap story, i have no idea why i just asked the question, i believe i thought this was a better way :P anyways enough now, Over and Out ^^ |

Stick to DAoC for PvP
I sincerely hope there are no plans!!
I left DAoC purely because I hated the RvR and the competitive people that went with it. If you want PvP why not stick to Camelot? Not everyone wants PvP, and every game is different right? It would be a sad day if all online games were the same, with the same old rules, PvP and so on. I think EQII is great as it is, if I want PvP I will play Camelot. Now if they were to create a separate server like the Camlann server that's not a problem. Just my two-pennies worth, it's not meant as a flame

If you knew Cara like I did, you would've known why she left Camelot.
I also left Camelot mostly because of RvR. The new patch 1.70 is all about keep-taking.. No fun to be honest. EQII is a game suited for Cara and me. We like playing it together, helping others and so on. If you want PvP.. Or any "battlezones" where you can face other players, why not stick to the good old DAoC? EQII should be what it was meant to be Of course, this is my personal opinion, not poking the eye to those who love RvR |

AO is alot more fun then this dude and its free for a year to boot, maybe try that out if you want to try a new mmorpg.
I'd say this game was great only if your a carebear but thats not quite true, i found WOW and DAOC pve more interesting, only thing this game has going for it is a gfx engine (Thats actually rather shoddy really if you have a look at it even on a high end machine like mine) it has alot of voice acting which adds to the whole feel of the game and the crafting system is fantastic. Its PVE will last you longer then DAOC or WOW i think but dont expect it to be exciting because this game wasnt made to be exciting it was more made to be "interesting" and i do like complicated games and love learning the rules and ropes but i expect some fun doing it, insted it feels like a chore. It might sound like i'm just a fanboy bashing EQ2 but thats not the case, i really did want to like this game and it just let me down.

Oh dont know why i forgot to mention it, if you are actually looking just for some co-op monster bashing why not try to get into the city of heros euro beta? that game has the best pve you will EVER see in a mmorpg bar none.

In EQ1 all the PvP was on specific PvP servers, so if you didn't want PvP you didn't go onto the PvP server
best of both worlds. They had Full PvP, good v evil server, diety v diety servers and so on. They were fun to play on too. They did have duelling on all the normal servers but like Daoc duels you had to accept the offer of duelling. I prefer the questing and PvE tbh, but now and again it would be nice to go onto the PvP server and bash or get bashed ![]() One of the best ideas they had for a server was the Ironman server, had Full PvP, but when you died you had to restart your character from level 1 hehehe, and whoever killed you got all your equipment!!!! bet a few people had tears playing that. |

Hmm, it's not supposed to be entertaining for you
Cara left Prydwen and DAoC because, not her, but WE got tired of all that RvR nagging.. And NF was also disappointing. That's why.. The rest you don't need to know.. But like I mentioned earlier; This wasn't supposed to be bad, it was just a personal statement, which you can't change no matter what you say. |

No probs, coh is a fantastic game that somehow not many people have noticed, the only reason i dont play it because my guild wont play it because of the lack of PVP, other then that its the most polished and bug free mmorpg i've played
