Depends who you play with I guess and what you want to do.

Personally I'm based in pvp zones and go out fighting!

I'll agree it does take some time to get into, but its far from boring. I have spent a great deal of time in hisec space mining and whatnot, and i'll agree that its more than a little dull.

But once you have yourself a half decent ship and some good skills, you can move out to lowsec and have yourself some fun. Join a corp that operates from a lowsec system and it will all start coming together, i'm having a great time at the moment, fighting player pirates, ratting, the odd spot of corp mining, just started doing level 3 missions in my Battlecruiser, which is pretty challenging.

The thing about EVE is you can spend hours just mucking about, testing ship setups, browsing the market for bargains, setting up buy/sell orders, manufacture, research. You can make a fortune without ever having to leave the station if your shrewd about it.

There is always something you can be doing, if you log on and your bored because of lack of content, then I really dont know what you've been doing..

because, u dont really have to do anything to gain skills. sure u need some ISK to buy them but once u have all the basic skills u dont ever have to leave the station ur docked at. ive had a alt sitting in the noob statioon since 2004 and hes got 26 million SP. every single skill is lvl 5 exept 1 skill thats lvl 4 going for 5... and i havent even been outside the station apart from when i first started. and no i never transferred any ISK from my main. all i did was making smart buying and selling on escrow**...

theres just never a good reason to leave the station to skill up...

**yes ok thats "doing something" i guess but u know what i mean..

Your assuming the entire game is about the acquisition of skills, its not, thats a small part of it.

On the same foot you could say that you dont need to do anything in DAoC to gain levels, you just need to stand behind a group of Animists in a Fins group and wait to hit 50. Is that all there is to it? No, thats a tiny part of the game, its just something that needs to be done.

Its also a GREAT way of seperating the levels of players, in Warcraft you can get a month old player being at the same level as a someone who has played for a year. It creates a level playing field, but is that what you really want? I don't, not in a game like EVE anyway, I want to be rewarded through time spent.

And I dont see how you could have all skills at level 5, that would take a lot longer than 2 years. More like 5-6, and most of the higher level skillbooks wont be available in a newbie station.

PS. Why have you been paying for a second account you dont play? Other than to switch skills and buy and sell on Escrow ofc..
