hows it getting on ?

played the beta
graphics were ok, idea was ok, was just a bit light on the content and variance of missions.. only made it to lvl 2 but was all kobold missions

is there much more in there yet or been announced ? and have they fixed those insane bugs ? like the "fail to join chat channel" and having to relog to talk to anyone..

tempted to get it but seemed a bit.. unfinished at the time.

http://forums.freddyshouse.com/dungeons-dragons-online53/190857-concerns.html For a couple comments i made today.

To complement, the game does indeed feel unfinished. The framework for a great game is there but so far theres alot missing. Being on a new quest is great fun but since there are so few quests atm that joy doesnt last long - running the same quest for the fifth time just isnt very entertaining anymore, and to level up you will need to do just that, especially at the later levels (you can likely get to level 4 or so without repeating anything, but after that you are forced to repeat quests).

The interface/social/chatbugs are very annoying and nothing much has been done about them so far in release, which is a bit worrying - normaly when a new mmorpg is released there are bugfixes almost every day, and so far theres only been one bugfix patch applied in the 3 weeks since release, and that one didnt actually fix much of the annoying stuff.

Im still hoping they will surprise us all and start fixing stuff at a good pace, since i want the game to succeed - it is possible to have very fun in it, and its nice with a game that plays differently than the great mass of other generic mmorpgs that are out there.

Well I find it better than the tired mess that DAOC had become. It fits my playstyle more so it must be each to their own. DDO is definatley more limited that DAOC is now, but no more limited or bug ridden as something like DAOC was at release (remember no DF, no TOA, no SI, no RA's, no RP's). The quests are definatley fun and apart from some server issues I've had nothing but fun

Cancelled my sub today before the first payment was due. Have only 2 quests left that i havent done and am level 8. Simply no justification for paying 15euro a month for repeating the same static quests.

It was fun to play through it, but the content is seriously lacking in volume - i dont really see how Turbine expects to retain a playerbase when even the most casual player will have done all the content there is in a few weeks. Normal gamers will likely not pay for the first monthly fee, and casuals wont pay for the second one. The ones who keep paying will be the ones that play less than 5 hours a week or so (i.e. super-casuals).

Well i hate to say i told you so but i did warn everyone this game is just plain bad.

But of course everyone on launch day was ''i love it!! best game ever!!'' but like i said once the honey moon period wears off you'll get sick of running the same quest over and over again.

This is just your standard generic cheap MMORPG with a good name but with nothing else going for it.

I'm still enjoying DDO as are many others. But each to their own

I play casually at the moment, no more than twice a week and for about 2-3 hours when I do simply because a friend hated the game so much they quit and im running out their subscription.

For Aada, the game is not bad, by your own admission you didn't take the time to explore the game fully and so can't bash it for that. What there is, is easily the best group-orientated pve mmorpg on the market by a long shot, the issue is content and most of us realised this would be the sticking point at release.

I still think it has the potential to be great, but still feels unfinished and limited. My concern during beta was content and if they would keep regular updates, still too early to know if this will pan out.

Simply put, no GOOD QUALITY regular content updates will mean this game will die on its arse.

The game had flop written all over it from the start of the weekend BETA testa it was downright boring there was no EXPLORATION simply walk into the door next to you and whack a mole.

What new content can they possibly add to make the game FUN? nothing because new content will just be another door round the corner from the Inn is it 10 or 20 lvls you can get i forget as i forgot about this game along time ago however i still pop along around MMORPG.COM forums to see poeple quitting the game on a regular basis.

I'm really not suprised your friend quit the game its BORING they took a good name licence and milked it for all it was worth and churned out a generic MMORPG.

I predict the game will die in around 2 years if that it will be like Matrix Online with a few key players in the community that try to keep the game from dieing.

I take it you unsubscribed? to me that says it all you say its the best group based MMORPG but what keeps people playing an MMORPG? you know what it is and its CONTENT something this game is lacking and its been lacking it from the word go.

It was rushed job a good MMORPG will take around 4-5 years this game was rushed out in what? 2 years at the most? says it all.

When you think of an MMORPG you think of a huge world.. this game is based in a freaking TOWN how lame is this? this is a game they could have released on the xbox/PS2.

By new content I of course mean new areas to explore and differnet types of areas, basically the kind of content a GM can generate (I mean GM in the pnp terms ofc) which just won't work in a mmorpg.

I still play this game sometimes but only with my mates, rarely do i play with other online gamers. I never bought it, i never subbed to it but that does not change my opinion that the actual game is rather good and the pve grouping is a lot of fun. However, I have always failed to see why a game more suited to a co-op non-sub game was released as a mmorpg.

Simply put, it's not imo worth paying a subs fee and thats why it is struggling, but I do not agree that the game is crap.

mmorpg.com, hehe, if you look closely its always the same people moaning and quitting games
