Hunter's Pets and Training Them

I have just acquired a snapjaw turtle as I was informed you could train your other pets with its skills provided the pets were stabled when you captured it.
I've looked at pet training menu and cant see any skills from the turtle. So how do you traim em? Do they both have to be best friends (lvl6)? Any other good pets to acquire? Id like one with bite 2 or more!

Certain pets have innate abilities when you tame them, these you can learn by using your pet until a notification pops up saying you've learnt the skill. You can then abandon that pet and go fetch your main pet and teach it the skill you've just learnt.
