Tank spec anyone ?

found that being a super hero(ine) is great altho it seems that some missions are pretty hard to solo,but i cant stop making new characters to try and see the powers and what they do, as i always end up playing a tank in almost any game i focus on them now so far most fun seems to be a fire armor (blazing aura) super strength combo, if people have advice on a good tank spec let me know ! it might save alot of time to find out what is good

me goal is to make a strong tank for small groups

been grouping with an invulnerability tank and was impressed. Could take 5-7 mobs 4 levels higher on him and barely being hit. Ok, on the other hand, he couldnt do damage, but thats why you have scrappers and blasters.


Never seen a fire armor tank, so cant help you with that though.

i have a tank with invulnerability and the axe power.
he can take a hell of a pounding before dropping and dishes good damage too.
only problem is that his attacks are a tad slow.

The one I've played is Invuln / Super strength (cause it's fitting, him beeing man of steel and all that I think Ice would also be interesting as it reduces speed of the opponents. While AE damage effects/attacks can be fun it's no fun breaking up mezzez tho

OK! after making 4 tanks then finally reading some forums .. i made my tank with Invulnerability and Super Strength and started out with Resist Physical Damage and Jab and now on my first level i took Temp Invulnerability.

think my goal is dull pain, resist elements first then a Super Strength think Haymaker ...

Im Inv / Energy melee - all tanker melee powers will do about the same dmg over time, some frontload alot more but are naturally slower and the faster ones SS and EM do less dmg.

So it really dont matter what you take, it's more how you like to play.

About the defencive powers, I've only played Inv in beta and live, I'm L18 now and I can take alot of heat, Provoke is a must for a real tanker.
It's sick
All mobs attack you and your team go on nuking/hitting the mobs and they still stick to you like flies to sh1t

ah yes, get provoke asap, without it you cant do your job.

I played a Fire/SS tank for a while. He does pretty well.

Provoke the mobs, smack them around while the blasters nuke them. Consume keeps your end up.... and hopefully a defender keeps your health up
