CoH in Ascii!

Been playing with the nifty little features of el Radeon and recently discovered that CoH takes quite well to some of them.

The pics aren't all up yet, and aren't 56k friendly either.

Ascii! (really hard to make out, i'll get some better one's later and place them next to a normal screeny)

Basically what you're looking at there is the inside of a dumpster, rubbish shots to be honest, but i was logged there for a while while playing with the shaders

This is boomtown looking out from the..Skyway city or Steel Canyon entrance i think, will have to check up on that.

Looking at the building in a few other of the shots.

The ascii in screenshots really does look pants, and short of drawing an outline or taking an identical shot normally i'm not sure how to illustrate that one properly :/

Stylistic colour! (this one's fairly dark + crap because when i took this i hadn't realised the smartshader was on at the time , looks great and comic booky though normally)

Stylistic Black & White (My favourite, i'm actually going to play the game like this due to its noirish B+W look with the hints of colour where it matters (con colours etc)

Annnd finally, classic, looks like the old burned westerns that were shot using some dodgy colour process, not as impressive as the stylised black + white, but pretty all the same.

They're fairly boring screenshots but I didn't have a group at the time and didn't want to faff them about with me buggering around with the various shaders

Also, they might look fairly boring as still pictures, they come to life when you see them moving properly and around a bit. Especially the ascii, which looks strange enough in full motion, nevermind the monstrosity of screenshots Oo.

Anyhow, i'm knackered now after all that.

That looks suprisingly good, tbh.
Although I'm not sure I could handle playing it in ascii

I'm sure ASCII looks much cooler in motion. Kinda Matrix'y.

And the other will look very purdy moving too.

The ascii does look better in motion, though not by much, you have to sit further back and try to gel the characters together, plus there's not a chance of reading chat channels which is a shame
