Question Crashes with Ati

I have read a few threads/articles about CoD crashing with radeon cards. I just wondered if anyone knows of a fix / planned fix or anything.

Can play the game fine for an hour + but then it can crash 5 times in 5 mins.

pc spec
Asus P4C800 Deluxe motherboard
Intel P4 2.8ghz (800 fsb) HT
1GB PC3200 DDR (dual channel)
Asus Radeon 9800XT

The machine runs every other game without crashes. It's just CoD that causes me problems.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Regards,

Ross

9800 Pro here too. I too had the odd COD crash. None since I installed the latest drivers though.

The other tip on the boards was to turn off 'fast writes' in the ATI config.

Sometimes after turning off fast-writes, upon reboot the fast write is re-enabled.... hmm gremlins!

You'll have to turn it off via the BIOS. Thats the best way to make sure it is actually off.
