TDM is hugely popular on publics due to the fact that you can play how you like and join/leave as you want. S&D is more of a competitive gametype imo - once you die you're dead - something which I don't think is at all suitable for public servers, unless it is one frequently used by clans to practice for matches.

But hey, I'm just basing these opinions on what I've seen and experienced in other places. If you can put together a solid plan for other types (to show why they're needed), then be my guest.

Its suitable for me, I wouldnt stay long on a server that wasnt SD, it all seems a bit pointless, and yes I have tried it, only today

I would love a decent server running HQ/DOM & TDM in Hardcore & Killcam enabled...but NO S&D....I just can't see the fun of spectating for a minute or 2 if you die early in S&D...which always seems to end up as a simple sneak around last man standing affair on publics.

HQ & DOM give you objectives without too much hanging around being dead...and KillCam enabled means you don't get too much hanging around in corners camping/sniping (or if they do you can hunt them down and exact a sweet revenge

Ive been playing on that OMG server, plays hardcore, S&D, modded for shorter nade throws, as perfect as it gets at the moment.

HQ and Dom are ok, but dm and tdm are just HideInDarkCornersAndSnipeLol wastes of time

ill shall try to pop on at some point today, see if we can get it going

There was a bit of an impromptu gathering on TDM #1 today, we managed to get 16 people on at one point, and got some thoroughly good games out of it.

Perhaps we could make it a regular fixture?
