Woke early this morning.... cold has gotten a lot worse so I nip out to the chemist for disgusting lemon drink which seems to work quite well...

Deciding that we would shower then go out for a wander, Kris goes in first... about 5 minutes later I hear the sounds of "Laura... I think we have a problem"... It appears that there is no hot water and all the radiators have gone off...

With a cold and feeling very stinky my blood pressure startrf to rise a little......

Below pictures of my new home.... I know it looks a bit sparse at the moment but as soon as my stuff arrives and I start to purchase bits and bobs in my own style it will look more homely.

I finally got the keys to my new home at lunchtime today , although I had no sooner stepped in through the door when I had to leave to go and pick up Kiffy from Schiphol.

Kiffy's plane was due in at c.14.00 so I was cutting it a bit fine. Getting my ticket I asked the guard where I should change... the response came Rotterdam, although the correct response should have been Doitrecht. This small diversion didn't pose to much of a problem, 15 mins extra to my journey.

I have to say.. frustrations and a nasty cold aside, I have had an awesome week and experienced an amazing first few days in the Netherlands.

Ive eaten out in many nice places (tapas and italian, not to mention some great cafes), I have eaten dutch yummehs... fresh medium (more like giant) stroopwafels, speculaas (spiced cookies), very yummeh chocolate brownies and lovely chocolates from V&D (specifically the cinamon ones).

I have been to a couple of dutch drinking...
