Shite few weeeks

The end of two very shite weeks. Mrs lost the baby two days after an op to remove a large pollip (sp?). So its been a week of tears and hugs just trying to get her back on a level.
Followed that up with crashing the 4x4 into a petrol tanker. Actually his fault as I was stationary and hooting at him as went around me from the right and took the front of the car off. But the police said and I quote, "it was your fault as the tanker driver did not see you!"
BS as the prick waved his fist at me when I hooted but then carried on regardless. Basically he was a muslim I wasn't so I get the red slip he gets the green. I can't believe this shit still goes on now in Dubai. 10 years ago you expected it but Dubai has changed for the better in so many ways.
Cost me 500 Dhs excess and 3 years no claims.
Then to cap it all off I have to travel back to Istanbul again for two weeks. Not good timing considering the state of the wife
Seriously considering moving to US now, Middle East Region is starting to really piss me off. Have a good offer with a 3 year company sponsored VISA. You can put up with the arrogance for only so long before it starts eating away at you. I would not mind but some of the idiots I have to deal with are completely clueless. I find it quite scarey they actually qualified as aircraft Engineers at all.

aw hawk i am so sorry to hear about that, doesnt do much good but you and your wife both have my best wishes.
mabye a change of scenery would be nice for both of you? especially if your getting a bit sick of your current location. Anyway I hope your lives get better soon /hugs xxx |

Agreed, get out of their while you can. You may love the place, but if you don't feel welcome or safe anymore, its time to leave.
I had the same thing in Ireland, I loved the job, I had some family there, but the place was full of ignorance and stupidity. I had trouble when I was in Ireland, in the end, it was just easier to move back home that put up with all the crap. |
