for those that know me you'll probably know one of my bestest bestest books ever is "the book of lost things" well this is by the same guy and...
ZOMG!! wow, its a great book, the way he writes is just wonderful, he is so descriptive from the very first page i just melted down in to a big heap and lost myself in this book
and wonder of wonders! its the 6th in a series (yippeeee!) o as soon as i got to work today i dug out the first in the series and plan to read my way up to this one, i'll have to imagine its being told in flashback lol.
the story is set in Maine, i know what your thinking but stephen king does not hold exclusivity writes on the place and connolly (even though he's a paddy) writes about the place with almost exactly the same amount of understanding and intimacy it makes you feel as if your there. The subject matter is pretty grim (murder and child abuse) but the story is gripping and the characters are great, the main character is a PI called Charlie Parker and i really can't wait to get better aquainted with him and his friends.
as they say on ebay: A++++++++++
