OK so this is the first in the charlie "bird" parker series (I read the last one by accedent lol) and its bloody long and i enjoyed every bit of it!

its down as a silence of the lambs type thing and i have to agree with that, its dark and nasty and some onf the stuff this guy writes is truely sick...i loved it!

I do like a good long book you can really get your teeth in to and if you like crime and who dunnits and blood and guts and gore then you'll like this...

For those of you who have heard of them this is the first book in the series of The Dresden Files, which was a short lived (but quite good) TV series about a wizard living in chicago and working with the police.

If you've seen the show then you'll recognise the story but it's approximately 1 book per episode so theres an awful lot more in the book and (aside from Harry) most of the characters are totally different.

A few of you eropean guys might already know of this dude but as an english country bumpkin I had not encountered him until fairly reciently and man am i ever glad i did. I was remarking to B2 only last night about how almost everything i read is by british or american authors (the books may be set in foreign countries but the writers are less exotic and the wording is all familiar) and how refreshing it is to read a book written in a totally different way.

OK so if you read my previous post about the book Ratcatcher you'll be aware of the characters etc for this book which is the sequal...if not then bugger off and go read it because im not sdding typing it all again just for you lazy oiks!

ZOMG!! wow, its a great book, the way he writes is just wonderful, he is so descriptive from the very first page i just melted down in to a big heap and lost myself in this book
