Hit and Run: Lawrence Block

Posted 23rd June 2009 at 11:10 AM by Ezteq

I think this is the fourth book in the series about Keller the stamp collecting hitman, he rminds me of Leon but not in a "this is such a rip off" way, its just that he is a simple quiet guy, who actually doesnt really like what he does but does it in his simple quiet way.

He is also lonely, he tried getting a dog, and having a girlfriend and even a shrink but none of it worked so he seems destined to remain alone but for his one contact, his employer Dot.

The quiet life of Keller seems to be drifting by in its quiet (occasionally murderous) way when he gets his "last" assignment from Dot, he has decided to retire but the person who wants the job done paid in advance and left no contact details...ah well, may as well get it done! Alas tis a fit up and keller is forced to flea, what will become of Dot and his stamps...lost forever?

Keller undertakes a journey across America, living in hiding as his face, his face that he has worked so very hard to keep unnoticable and bland, is now all over every TV channel in the USA. Kellers life is over, he can never go back, but what awaits him ahead?

Well read the flipping book and you'll find out wont you? sheesh! Seriously though this is a great series and watching this character unfold has been really enjoyable, you think you know him then he has a thought or says something and its like whaaat? where did that come from??

I love Block anyway his characters are always interesting and easy to relate to, if you havent read any of his work try Small Town, very good and gritty and full of dirty sex... Fwoor!
