This is the fifth in the series and due to some screwey ordering at the library i didnt ever actually get to read No. 4 as the 5th was ordered in first!

I foudn this series of books by accedent and I'm bloody glad I did, they feature a duo of Alabama detectives Carson Ryder and Harry Nautilus...and Ryders brother jeremy...who happens to be a serial killer incarcerated in a local asylum for the seriously squirrelly.

Ryder and Nautilus work in a department called PSIT...

well, what can i say... what a bloody good read!

Set in the early 1800s in london the main blurb on the front cover is "you dont send a gentleman to catch vermin...you send Hawkwood" and its a real rip roaring adventure, the very first chapter has a highwayman robbing a coach of some vital naval papers and then Bow Street runner Matthew Hawkwood is put on the case to track them down.

The story features london low and high life with waifes and pickpockets,...

Once again, I'm attacking my FH blog with a thought I just had while wondering around my flat looking for nothing in particular. Just got me thinking about how useful I actually am, thinking about it and really thinking about it, I'm not really. I mean, everyone usually has some sort of skill, everyone usually has some sort of use and I can't honestly see where mine is.
