Buggy muthaf*Cking p1ece of 5h1tz0r!! - Help!!

Ok.

So I bought myself a nice new monitor - 22" Widescreen LCD with a native resolution of 1680x1050. (I've been getting headaches so this should do the trick).

Logging into my games to change the resolution. HL2 works great. WoW works great.

BF2142????

Crashes just after starting loading. Even after a full reinstall...

Now, I know the game is buggy as fuck and I know I should never have bought anything by EA - ever. But I am quite partial to a blast now and again.

Any ideas people?

Edit your configs and put it to 60hz.

how did you change the resolution? you could try doing it via the command line in the icon and see if that helps.

Clown is right: BF2142 won't run properly (on a tft) unless it is at 60Hz. Also, if the sizing isn't available in the rez pull down menu, you can add them into the shortcut that starts BF a la +szx XXXX +szy XXXX where the X's are your x and y screen size in pixels.

I'd managed to find the sizing thing - and can get the game to start up now. Unfortunately BF2142 is so poo it doesn't support widescreen resolutions!

So, I'm reduced to playing it in stretch-o-vision. Hey ho. I'd like to say I was growing weary of it but that'd be lying...

Just the HUD is stretched, the in-game graphics should be fine. It has no real widescreen, so the tops and bottoms are chopped off.

before patch 1.10, there was a widescreen option. sadly it dissapeared :/
