Freddy Servers closing

Thats right..i'm currently some £400 short for the server renewal.

As such the servers will be closing on the 12th on december.

With the servers full every night of the week and ranked 52 and 93 in the world for popularity i would have expected too receive more donations, sadly this has not occured and i can''t afford too pay for the servers n my own again.

It was good while we had them.
Anyone who has donated too the new server cycle will get there money back too there paypal account.

ECA..its been in the server messages since the servers went live, but seems too have gotten little action along the way

I'm pondering some ideas but it does currently appear that we will be closing them down..on the 6th..the 12th is incorrect.

I haven't been playing much either, but fwiw I'm perfectly willing to donate so I can play up to closing time. I had lots of fun on teh FH servers, and that's worth something in my book.

Trouble is.

The current server is a AMD 4000+ X2 with 2 gig of ram.

This server is powerful enough too run 2x64 man Bf2 1xFEAR 16 and a 32 man Quake 4 server...to get a server of that kind power woudl cost around £1800.

Hell i had a chat with Jup and Deebs about raising the money for our own FH server...kinda thought about it alot an decided against at the time...still it is something too think about i guess.

Next theres getting hold of a ranked Server licence, costs about £80 for single servers and EA really make you jump through hoops for it...but i know people who've done it.


I'm all for that plan in the logn run, as once we have the server theres no further costs involved aside the bandwidth and rack space which deebs has graciously offered.

Well i got a quote for this a while ago so i can check again too find out what it would cost now days...unless anyone knows any other good server suppliers??

the ph33r clan would be willing to donate 40 quid each so thats 200 quid to keep the serva open

so surely theres more people who play the serva that should be donating to keep it going
