Basic spec advice required...

Now that my Paladin is almost Lvl 50, I am considering creating three additional characters, and just need some basic spec advice/confirmation.

Wizard: Would like a Briton Fire Wiz. 15 Dex/10 Int? Intending to go 50 Fire and cannot decide whether to go Ice for Heat debuff or Earth for DD/Snare and GTAOE for interupts?

Minstrel: Would like a Briton Minstrel. 10 Dex/Cha/Con? What's the best spec? Will be fully auto-trained.

Scout: Would like a Briton Scout. 10 Dex/Qui/Con? What's the best spec? Will be fully auto-trained. Would ideally like 50 LB, 42 Shield and 39 Stealth at Lvl 50. Will be fully auto-trained. Cannot stand the Saracen character model, so that's out! Need to know what weapon damage type to spec? Am thinking Slash, but mindful of Str/Con debuff...

TIA

I know

I can't play at regular times, so getting my MLs done is going to be an utter nightmare. It'll probably take me the best part of a year to get to ML10, obtain and level the artifacts, farm the cash needed to buy the MP armour and weapons get the SC done I'd like, obtain the quest jewelry, and then, eventually, I might actually be able to play RVR!

Still, such is life.

Can anyone help with my original post?

char builder is wrong, the heat debuff isnt a heat debuff its a cold debuff, if that helps ;/

minor spec in earth or ice.. hmm well minor spec in earth gives u some nice toys/util, minor spec in ice gives u a mostly usless low lvl pbaoe. also by minor speccing in earth u gain a 3rd bolt which hits for sh!t but still does have its uses. advantage: earth

15dex/10int or 15int/10dex, flip a coin.

"Ice for Heat debuff"

There is no heat debuff in Ice, I wish there was but there isn't

Thanks for the advice regarding the Wizard spec. I won't be using the Character Builder on Catacombs any more, as clearly it cannot be trusted!

I still require advice for the Minstrel and Scout classes.

TIA

For a Wizard I would go Briton (or hack the game to let you be an Inconnu) and 10 Dex/10 Int/10 Con or 15 Dex/10 Int but I have never been a fan of doing that with the points, seems like a waste of 5 points to me.

The majority of Wizards in RvR I have seen recently are specced Fire over Ice. I have seen a few Wizards who I thought were Ice are now Fire. They have obviously been reading the US Boards at the damage Fire is doing over there and decided to a)get some practice in or b)realised that Fire is actually quite good. I remember the days in Emain, "what spec are you?", "fire", "oh well, goodbye".

In New Frontiers Fire is definatley the spec to be. The changes to MoC, the change from open field RvR to keep defence/taking where range is a huge advantage, the fact that with relic bonuses the Fire Bolt when it hits does massive damage, the fire dd is better than the ice dd, the change to PvE monster aggro, the list goes on. Fire is the definate spec to be.

But if you're levelling, you might still want to be Ice until 50 then get yourself a respec stone (or hope you hit 50 just in time for New Frontiers and take advantage of the cheap respec stones)
