Gaute Godager left Funcom a few days ago
His reason was that the game wasnt what he thought it would be.
Gaute was the co-founder of AOC and has been with the company for 16 years.
Taking over for him is Craig Morrison, wich some of you may know ran the AO appartment off Funcom (After Gaute Godager left that project)

When gaute started "stopping" some elements Funcom lost alot of employees.
Maybe now the game will be as it was promised.
Alot of what was promised and is missing in the game is there, but not activated because of Gaute Godagers "Vision of the game"


In my honest oppinion: I think the game suddenly has a brighter future then it did a couple of weeks ago.

Well I read some of the things they could implement but didnt and it sounded damn nice, good riddence of that Gouggdgettee guy.

Anyway I think if they would have ANY chance to regain players it has to be with 1 month free sub for all who left due to a fubared game at launch.

I mean I'm interested to start AoC again now after the small pvp updates with pvp armor n stuff, but I will not pay to be a beta tester again

yeah, i subbed for a month just to see how things were and theres still not much of any lvl 55+ content.

Too late AOC had it's chance and it will never ever recover to put out anything worth going back for.

I still remember being flammed to death on this forum for speaking the truth about this dire game by the rabid fanbois who thought this game was the second coming.

Well to be fair Aada, all you did was bitching about how hard it was to PVE when it was infact quite EASY. You also whinged alot about class balance when you had no clue on how to play the game in the first place.

You said Necros was sucky when they was in there OPed era, yet you had no clue on how to spec them proper. You whined about Bearshamans, sigh..think you did some whinge about PoM beeing horribly oped aswell, even after their crit stack nerf :d..

So yah you did whine, but the reason to AoC beeing totallly unplayable is the PvP dmg vs health ratio and the so called siege game, lack of interesting endgame content on PvE servers ( lacks on pvp aswell but atleast they could claim "ppl could pvp duhh??!?" .. )

Just out of curiosity has the game become any better? Really liked the graphics and the style of the game but we all know the flaws.

Kinda doubt it mate.

I been thinking of giving in a try again aswell but doesn't feel that tempting.. I would try it if they offered free sub to the people who left, even if it was onyl for 7 days or 14 days.. if its good you stay if not you didn't loose anything on it. Think funcom would gain alot from doing so but I guess they think they have it undercontrol.. and probably telling themselves ppl will come back on their own, wich they obvously won't


I think if they fix the largescale PvP, fix the itemization, and minigames ( wich was horrible tbh when I played, yet they claimed to have like 150k diffrent items in the database...riight.. more like <50 )

Trying out warhammer now, I enjoy the casual fun type of pvp and rvr scenarios. If AoC got something like that running I would be tempted.

I really think AoC graphics are superior to warhammer but AoC for me was to much grind.

i doubt it. they havent had a patch since 17th september. and even that patch were just minor fixes to nothing important.
