Congrats LoE. Have to admit I'm 99% done with this game and Funcom's 'nerfs before content' approach to running a MMOG. But reading this almost makes me wish I had a character of a level high enough to take part.

Some people fall at the first hurdle, having to run naked trhough their local park shouting at ducks.

Others fall foul of or strict personal hygene rules (brought in after DAOC obviously)

But the third, a full hour talking to solitas/Lakarell and Undyingangel in Vent breaks most people!

Totally agree bud, the last 6 patches have done untold damage to a game that had great potential.

Seems a lot of bashers and fanbois alike have quit. I still like the game, tho the last few patches hurt the client a good deal. They upped the stability but introduced a fat memoryleak. Also for a couple of guys the shader implementation is buggy (never encountered it myself on my 8800GT, so cant tell you more).

Guild cities and battlekeeps give bonuses by now, they started introducing the PvP revamp (special stats for PvP resistances and ratings are in), a good deal of the keep-wall-geometry-exploits were fixed and open realmzone PvP starts to get going. So far its more or less once per week in lacheish plains, but people are eager to do it more.

I presume once the pvp rewards and the pvp levels are in, you ll see more action in the boderkingdoms, however thats speculation of course.

Rumor has it that some Raidimprovements were implemented, but I dont care about raiding so I didnt follow that at all.

Patch cycle was changed to once a week, which seems to help the patchquality. Maybe the open testlive servers did their share as well, I dont know.

2 months in and the crafting, user interface, feats, training points and quest gaps are still broken to a degree of unplayabillity(word?).
The instancing and missing end game was not what was advertised on the box. The epic scale keep battles where, but how can you fight when you cant login, or just enter the battle zone to defend you're keep. How can you craft when you need to login/out between each point, or the resources needed don't drop anywhere.

And yes im bitter, we (HB) did our part, big successful dedicated community, exploring,
raiding and PvPing but people lost the will to logon because of a broken game.
Read the server forums, loads of guilds are merging and people looking for guild because guilds turn deserted over night.

I feel bad for Funcom, how can they use so many resources on creating something, and then failing so bad. They need atleast another 6 months before the game is ready to release.

The people with active subs still are the once who payed for 6 months because they thought they where smart, or they are simply in denial.

If you want to play something until Warhammer Online, play WoW, nough' said.

I'm glad you have found something you enjoy. You are free to play anything you want. But how can you say AOC is what it was promised to be? How can you be happy with the current state of the game? I can understand you could sticking to it, hoping for improvements but thats something different.

Good luck with AOC, I canceled with the rest.

If you start a paragraph with "thats a fact", people can expect you to be at least semi-objective. You were venting to a degree of spindoctoring. I was trying to get that point across without having to type it out. Obviously that didnt work...

I am very happy with the game AS IS. It gives me lots of stuff to do and leveling (not powerleveling!) a few characters is fun. My bearshaman plays completely different from my necro or my ranger. Its good fun to me. I got a nice guild and a few RL friends. The game could be better, of course, but its still early in the lifespan (hopefully it does not go the way of TR) and I remember DAoCs and WoWs early days. I also had fun with those even at early stages, BTW.

I am also happy that you talk with your wallet and cancel your sub, since you obviously dont like to play.

I am not happy when you write your oppinion about something on a public forum and declare it as "fact". Thats just not ok.

Can we now agree on disagreeing?
