There is also ebay, mates, theft. Doesn't solve much. Funny thing is this: CS:S is pretty nasty atm anyway.

Well its an inconvience that seems to have an affect. True its not hard to go and get a new e-mail address to use, and a cheap copy of hl. But that will only get them the old mods. This crack down was mainly because a lot of people were using cracked copies of CZ or dodgy cards to buy it with. That stops them playing the source beta, and CZ isnt as cheap as hl1. Also duplicate CD keys are banned, so picking up a copy on ebay will do you no good unless they supply you with their steam account as well.

With HL2 poised to be sold directly over the steam network, this is a clear warning shot to card fraudsters and people who want to try and skip paying by other means.
