Need a recommendation for a LAN Racing Game

I need some recommendations for a good Racing Game with PC LAN play for at least 4 players, it can be a sim or arcade, but it needs to run on both XP and Vista and does not need a high spec machine (will be running on Core Duo laptops and AMD 3200XP).

Preferably a single licence can be installed on all machines, failing that, a free or reasonably cheap one would suffice.

I've taken a quick glance at Trackmania, Grid, Need for Speed, Midtown Madness, Flatout, etc. If any of these fit the bill then say so.

I remember midtown madness being an absolute hoot, a bit dated now but I'm sure it's still great fun.
