I agree, but it is rather like dreaming than expecting, or being too anal about a setup instead of just playing with friends.

Just sit back and allow people to have fun, if you can't manage that just stay out of this thread.
Didn't you come back recently to play DAoC? I was interested and played until 2 months ago and I know what Mythic/GoA got me over the last years (in a positive and negative way), so I know what I can expect.

I think Mythic has the wrong approach. Instead of fixing broken windows, they're installing new ones and then they ask the crowd to go to the new windows if they don't like the old ones.

A broken window can often be just fixed and despite of what you might think most of the Dyvet players just stopped to play because they had no one to play against or with. Most of the other issues DAoC had (leveling/ToA time sink) have been dumbed down heavily and people actually had fun regardless of the layout of the frontiers or the class balance - if they've found someone to group with/against.

So yes, DAoC Origins will be a temporary solution for them, maybe even for me, everybody will rush to the new server, leaving blank servers behind, accelerating the downfall of DAoC.

The lack of initiative from Mythic/GoA is astonishing: at this stage the game could be given out for trial for a month for free, the subscription cost should be halved and the remaining servers merged. Open as many other ruleset servers as you want from there. I think having some changes accompanying the start of Origins would do DAoC good, for now I see good short-term effects and bad mid-term effects.

Time to look up trashtalking in a dictionary I guess.
