Missing CoZ like you said, which gives 20% health for 100% of power.
That would be like 460 hits on my Heretic, and then there you have power regen from EP, CW on back, omni procs, Crocodile Tooth Ring, resplenishment potion and eventually (greater) myth of power.
Accumulated it easily over 1k HPs you get back. If you can be arsed to swap in duration items when using CoZ you get a 12:30 duration on it, so it's up almost all the time.
Consider to use a crafted shield with an omni proc, they work on shields.
