First I should spell out what I have thus far:
Mesmerize
Healing Aura
Dominate

Telekinesis <this is why mind isnt populair anymore>
When I am with a large group. I find myself always playing the role of healer (even if there are defenders about). There is a RARE time I might dominate something to reduce damage but I pretty much just heal. I am ALWAYS valued by a group due to being able to tport those that whiff it in the middle of a crowd out to safety and then I just rezz them.
When you are in a team of 6 to 8 I promise you stuff is flying around so fast and bad guys are dropping so fast your value is more in healing than in crowd control. I tried Mass Hypno in a group of 8 and no sooner do I set it off then I guarantee half the blasters use AoE and screw it over.
In a foursome (which is how I primarily play with some good friends of mine) I take on a whole different role. Yes I still heal, but I am also more about crowd control. I will often use Mass Hypnosis <slap the AoE blaster if he use AoE> to reduce the damage we take.
I Dominate, Mass Hypnosis and Mesmerize often. Healing takes on a secondary role.
Solo I dip into empathy only in desperation
I choose Telekinesis without doing research alas from the patch. I have hopes it gets fixed in the future but for now it is useless due to its VERY HIGH endurance cost. I can go from full to zero in 15 seconds using that power. I was debating between TK and hover and wish I had taken hover now. As you could avoid the majority of aggro.
Mind has a lot of future tweaking being promised so currently I am investing in a future that has not come yet. Who know what will happen
